Dean Garry Jenkins Mentioned in the Boston Globe about New England Colleges and Universities Opening their Doors to Diverse Leadership

The Boston Globe recently wrote about New England colleges and universities hiring more women and persons of color, including University of Minnesota Law School Dean Garry W. Jenkins, who is slated to begin his tenure as the president of Bates College in July.

The Globe reports: "Nine institutions of higher learning in the region, including Harvard University, UMass Amherst, and Mount Holyoke College, have hired new leaders who are women or persons of color. The moves mirror national trends, according to a recent report by the American Council on Education."

The Globe quoted Jenkins from an earlier article: “I am overjoyed to join the Bates community as the college’s next president,” Jenkins said when he was hired in March. “Bates is a remarkable institution that is exceptionally well-positioned for the future.”
