Prof. Megan Walsh Writes Op-Ed in Star Tribune on the Gun Violence Crisis & Upcoming Supreme Court Case 

Visiting Assistant Professor Megan Walsh wrote an op-ed for the Star Tribune describing the current state of the gun violence crisis, and how it has impacted the Twin Cities specifically. Gun violence levels in the Twin Cities haven risen back to the level they were in the mid-90s. The Supreme Court is currently scheduled to review arguments the case New York State Rifle and Pistol Association (NYSRPA) v. Bruen, which could potential expand the scope of the second amendment. Reflecting on this possibility, Professor Walsh shared, "This country full of gun violence doesn't feel free, and the wrong decision in Bruen will cost us even more lives. Let's hope the Supreme Court gets this right, and continues to recognize that reasonable public safety regulations are essential when interpreting the Second Amendment."
