Prof. Megan Walsh Comments in FOX 9 Investigation Report on Ghost Gun Law

Professor Megan Walsh commented in a FOX 9 investigation report on ghost guns — guns without serial numbers. The Minnesota Supreme Court will be hearing a case challenging the validity of the ghost gun law. Some have claimed the current law is vague and makes it difficult for law-abiding gun owners to comply. Prof. Walsh said, “The language is very clear,” she said, speaking of the current state statute. “This statute has been on the books for decades, and gun owners, just like every citizen and person in Minnesota, have an obligation to know what the law is and to comply with it.” In addition, she authored a brief for the attorney general’s office defending the state law. “Minnesota has a right to make a policy decision to prohibit firearms without serial numbers because it is a huge public safety issue.”
