Prof. Moriearty Quoted by Star Tribune in Piece on Program Offering Pipeline from Prison to a Legal Career
Maureen Onyelobi, a client of the Child Advocacy & Juvenile Justice Clinic (CAC), will be the first incarcerated person in the country to attend law school when she begins her first year at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in August. Professor Perry Moriearty and students in the CAC have represented Ms. Onyelobi since 2021 and will present her case for a commutation to the Minnesota Board of Pardons in December. Professor Moriearty also serves on the board of the Legal Revolution, the non-profit that created the Prison-to-Law-Pipeline that is facilitating Ms. Onyelobi's law degree.
