Prof. Vaaler Comments on Fantasy Football Insider Information Misuse

Professor Paul Vaaler commented on the alleged misuse of proprietary company information by an employee at one of the two largest fantasy football sites, Draft Kings. The Draft Kings employee allegedly used that information to play and win $350,000 in prize money at the other large fantasy football site, FanDuel. Vaaler commented on the employee's individual liability for proprietary information misuse akin to insider trading of shares at a publicly-traded company. He also commented on harm to both fantasy football sites and broader fantasy football industry linked by sponsorships and endorsements to the National Football League and certain NFL franchises. This incident has prompted an investigation by the State of New York Attorney General and civil lawsuits by disgruntled fantasy football customers. Vaaler appears each Wednesday on WCCO Radio's Dave Lee show to comment on current business and legal issues.
