Prof. Carbone Writes Article on the 'Marriage Calculus' for Aeon

Professor June Carbone published a feature-length article in Aeon, an online magazine, entitled "The Marriage Calculus." The article, written with Professor Naomi Cahn, describes the growing class gap in family formation. It looks at the impact of growing inequality on the way that men and women match up and explains the role of the law in exacerbating class differences as the law locks in the understandings of college graduates, where men still tend to outearn women, and bears little relationship to the emerging terms of working class relationships, where women often have the more stable jobs.
