Prof. Meili Presents Human Rights Lectures at Two U.K. Universities

Professor Stephen Meili delivered lectures on two of his current research projects at the University of Essex and the University of Reading. At Essex's Human Rights Centre he discussed his empirical study of the impact of human rights treaties on asylum jurisprudence and practice in the U.K. over the past two decades. That study is the subject of an article forthcoming in the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. At a Faculty Works in Progress session at Reading, he presented his current research comparing the detention of asylum-seekers in the U.K. and the U.S. The latter research is part of Meili's larger project on the unmet legal needs of detainees in both countries.
