Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Oren Gross, the Irving Younger Professor of Law, is visiting the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) this month. Prof. Gross is a Senior Research Affiliate with MPIL, the premier research institute in Europe, on matters of public law and international law. During his visit he continues his research on the role of legal academia in the rise and the maintenance of the Third Reich.
Professor Matthew Bodie was quoted in Fortune regarding an NLRB hearing in which Elon Musk and SpaceX is defending itself against allegations that it illegally fired eight employees for distributing an “open letter” that criticized Musk. SpaceX immediately sued the NLRB after being charged in January, arguing that the independent agency, tasked by Congress to protect employees who are engaging in collective action or unionizing, was unconstitutional. Professor Hill's work on categories and prototypes was cited in a Delaware Chancery Court opinion, West Palm Beach Firefighters’ Pension Fund v. Moelis & Company. The case concerned the validity of a "new wave" stockholders' agreement, of a type that is becoming more commonly used.

WalletHub identified the best states where people in different income brackets spend the most and least on sales and excise taxes, property taxes, and income taxes. Professor Fionnuala Ní Aoláin was a panelist at a Humphrey School of Public Affairs conference presented by Global Minnesota titled, “Rebuilding Ukraine: A Future of Resilience and Renewal.” At the two-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion, the conference focused on the increasing attention toward long-term strategies for the country’s security, recovery, and rebuilding. As part of her remarks, Professor Ní Aoláin referenced her visit to Ukraine in December.
