Roshini Rajkumar ’97 Winds Down Nine-Year Radio Run on WCCO
After nine years as a fixture on WCCO Radio, Roshini Rajkumar ’97 is stepping away on Sept. 5 to concentrate on her media coaching & consulting business. She is not giving up on broadcast entirely, however, and plans to continue her digital show, Discover Minnesota with Roshini, on the Good Neighbor’s Facebook platform.
Rising 2Ls and 3Ls Share Their Varied Summer Career Experiences
Six Minnesota Law students recently shared their perspectives on their diverse summer career experiences, which ranged from working at a big law firm, to providing legal assistance to potato farmers in rural Maine, to interning at federal agencies such as the FCC and SEC, to performing corporate work for a major streaming entertainment network.

Incoming 1L Brandon Redmon Named First Recipient of George Floyd Memorial Scholarship in Law
The Law School has named incoming 1L Brandon Redmon as the first recipient of the George Floyd Memorial Scholarship in Law.
The scholarship was set up by the Law School with the generous support and leadership of Catlan McCurdy '11 and Sanjiv Laud '12 as well as hundreds of other contributors.
Prof. Orfield’s Minnesota Law Roots Stretch Back Over a Century
Professor Myron Orfield's connection to Minnesota Law started over a century ago when his great uncle, Matthias Orfield, attended the law school, graduating in 1912. Professor Orfield's uncle and mentor, Lester Orfield, was a 1927 graduate of Minnesota Law. All three Orfields have made their mark on public policy in the state, nation, and world.

Eight Minnesota Law alumni were among the individuals named “Up & Coming Attorneys” for 2021 by Minnesota Lawyer.

MACDL Names Myon Burrell’s Legal Team as Recipients of Special Achievement Award
The Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers has announced that it is recognizing the legal team of Myon Burrell for work they did in securing Burrell’s release after he had served 18 years in prison.
Rachel Hughey ’03 Appointed to 4th Judicial District Court
Rachel Clark Hughey ’03 has been appointed to the bench of Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District.
“I am proud to appoint Ms. Hughey to the Fourth Judicial District bench,” said Governor Tim Walz. “She is an accomplished lawyer who brings extensive legal and courtroom experience and devotion to public service. Ms. Hughey will be an outstanding addition to the bench.”

Professor Tom Cotter was recently appointed as the Law School’s new associate dean of research and planning.

John F. Docherty '86, an assistant U.S. attorney serving in the District of Minnesota, was recently appointed to serve as a U.S. magistrate judge in St. Paul.
