Prof. Oren Gross Publishes Counterpoint Op-Ed in the Star Tribune Challenging University of Minnesota Faculty Senate's "No Confidence" Vote
Prof. Oren Gross published Counterpoint op-ed piece in the Star Tribune on July 2, in which he rejected the recent “no confidence” vote in then Interim President Jeff Ettinger and Provost Rachel Croson. The vote came after Ettinger paused the appointment of a director of the University’s Holocaust and Genocide Studies Center.
According to Prof. Gross, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Irving Younger Professor of Law at Minnesota Law Law, Ettinger’s call to pause the appointment was a "proper exercise of his authority. It rightly reflected the broader commitment of a public land grant institution to all the communities it serves."
