Prof. Kritzer Quoted in Star Tribune Regarding Case Challenging Governor’s Veto of Appropriation for the Legislature

Professor Herbert Kritzer was quoted in an article about coming oral argument at the Minnesota Supreme Court in the Legislature’s lawsuit challenging Governor Dayton’s line item veto of funding for the operation of the Legislature. Kritzer observed that, given the Court’s recent decisions in major political cases, it was unlikely that the justices would divide along partisan lines: “The court may be divided, but I wouldn’t expect it to be divided in a clear political way.” Kritzer, who holds a Ph.D. in Political Science, is an expert in the area of law and politics and has written extensively on the selection of state supreme court justices in the United States.
