Prof. Klass Interviewed on Impact of Trump Executive Order on Dakota Access Pipeline

Professor Alexandra Klass was interviewed on Fox 9 News regarding the legal impact of President Trump's Executive Orders encouraging the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Keystone XL Pipeline. With regard to the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Executive Order directed the Army Corps of Engineers to move forward with the review and permitting of the pipeline in an expedited manner to allow the project to be completed. In December 2016, The Army Corps of Engineers, under the direction of President Obama, refused to grant a river crossing easement for the project to allow the agency to conduct additional environmental review of the potential impacts of the pipeline on nearby environmental and tribal resources. The Trump Executive Order reflects a change in policy regarding both these particular pipeline projects and energy infrastructure projects in general.
