Prof. Howland Quoted in National Law Journal on Paid Law Student Externships

Professor Joan Howland was quoted in a National Law Journal article entitled "Plan to Allow Paid Law Student Externships Advances in ABA." Howland, chair of the ABA's Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, said that although the council voted to submit the proposal to allow paid law student externships for public comment, a rule change may not necessarily be adopted. "I think when something goes out for notice and comment, the council believes it has merit to the extent they want to know what the public and bar think of it," she said.
