Karen Clauson is an experienced corporate counsel and strategic business partner. She served as SVP, General Counsel of Integra and Electric Lightwave, which provide communications and technology solutions, including data security, cloud-based, software and infrastructure offerings, to retail, wholesale and government customers. She facilitated the successful sale of the company to Zayo. As General Counsel, Karen directed legal and regulatory strategies, oversaw corporate governance and compliance, managed outside counsel and led the legal department.
Karen has partnered with businesses on M&A, commercial contracts, litigation, employment matters, and regulatory affairs. Karen joined Integra with the acquisition of Eschelon Telecom. Earlier, she managed regional public and regulatory affairs for MCI during a formative time in the industry, with passage of a key federal Act, and participated in shaping the competitive landscape going forward. She began her legal career in the litigation department of Dorsey & Whitney and was part of the law firm’s communications and employment practice groups. Karen is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and Utah State University (M.S., Communications). Karen is a Director on the Board of the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and Minnesota Stroke Association.
