Christopher Kopka is President of Thrivent Church Solutions Group. In this role, Kopka leaders Thrivent’s church-related businesses and functions, which presently reach over 30,000 churches through products and services provided by Thrivent and partner organizations. He is also the Senior Vice President for Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Partnerships.
Kopka joined Thrivent in 2006. He began his career providing training and development for law enforcement, which led him to attend law school at the University of Minnesota. He has served in senior strategy, legal, compliance and business development functions throughout his career. Chris is also a lifelong poet by passion.
He serves on the board of directors of Cooperative Development Services and of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation of the Americas, as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, as an advisor to FiveTwo (a ministry dedicated to starting new churches and missional communities), and as a mentor to church planters. He is a part of the Midtown Church community. Kopka is also an author and frequent presenter on topics related to cooperatives and to the church.
