Minnesota Law Advances to Quarterfinals and Wins Best Oralist at Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition

Minnesota Law advanced to the quarterfinals and won best oralist at the 2025-26 Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition held in Washington D.C., featuring 40 law schools from around the country.

Minnesota Law’s team of PattyJo English-Klitzke ’26 and Christina Griesgraber ’26 performed exceptionally well — advancing to the quarterfinal rounds of one of the largest and most competitive competitions in the country. English-Klitzke also won best oralist for the preliminary rounds. 

Sara Gurwitch ’95 and Charlotte Higgins ’25 coached the team. Both coaches competed on moot court teams while at Minnesota Law. Reflecting on this year’s results, the coaches said, “We were honored to coach this year’s Thurgood Marshall team. The students’ hard work, talent, and dedication paid off, and they gave an impressive showing in a tough competition. We are very proud of how they represented the University of Minnesota Law School.”
