Prof. Jill Hasday Quoted by Minnesota Star Tribune About Federal Government Surveillance of Labor Unions
Professor Jill Hasday was quoted by the Minnesota Star Tribune about the wide-ranging surveillance campaign by the federal government against local labor unions that was revealed in court records this week. The scope of the federal government’s surveillance campaign isn’t certain with Department of Homeland Security declining to comment on its investigations and its methods. Legal experts say that by nature, surveillance targets are often unaware if they are being monitored and may never know if an arrest doesn’t occur. Prof. Hasday said, “So we can go on for a very long time and often it’s uncovered in kind of indirect ways.”
