Prof. Francis Shen Interviewed by KARE News on AI Ethics and Mayo Clinic Lawsuit

Professor Francis Shen, Solly Robins Distinguished Research Fellow, was interviewed by KARE News about a lawsuit filed by a former Mayo Clinic employee alleging that she was wrongfully terminated for reporting AI ethics violations by the hospital. Shen told KARE, “Healthcare industries are some of the most important to watch because they're moving fast and they're moving first. Why is that? [For] AI systems to work, [they] need lots and lots of big data. Guess who has a lot of big data? Big health and big hospitals.” 

Shen is an expert on AI ethics and law and taught the first Law & AI course in Minnesota.
