Prof. Sam Merchant Interviewed on NewsNation About Upcoming Supreme Court Decisions
Professor Sam Merchant was interviewed on NewsNation about upcoming decisions to be handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court. Among the cases the court is considering are the president’s ability to fire independent agency leaders, the independence of the Federal Reserve, the push to end the guarantee that people born in the United States are automatically entitled to citizenship, the attempt to revive a restrictive asylum policy, and ending temporary legal protections for migrants fleeing war and natural disasters in their homelands. Regarding immigration-related cases, Prof. Merchant said, “Some of these immigration protections have been provided by Congress. So one showdown we'll have at the court is the power of the president and the power of congress over immigration.” Watch the interview.
