Prof. Ana Pottratz Acosta Interviewed by MPR News About ICE Arrest Quotas

Professor Ana Pottratz Acosta, visiting assistant professor and director of the the Immigration & Human Rights Clinic of the James H. Binger Center for New Americans, was interviewed by MPR News about ongoing arrests by ICE and immigrants living in fear, especially when they report for their immigration check-ins. She said, “Under the current administration, what's been happening is that these check-in appointments have turned into something of a low-hanging fruit for ICE. They have this external pressure to meet the daily quota of 3,000 arrests per day (nationally), and for that reason, if they are maybe low on a particular day, it may be more likely that they would arrest people.” Listen to the interview.
