Prof. Amy Sweasy Interviewed by FOX 9 News About U.S. Government’s Refusal to Hand Over Renee Good’s Car

Professor Amy Sweasy was interviewed on FOX 9 News about the widow of Renee Good asking a court to order the federal government to hand over the vehicle her spouse was driving when she was fatally shot by an immigration agent in January. In the motion, Rebecca Good argues the U.S. government’s refusal to turn over the Honda Pilot inhibits her pursuit of a probe into the shooting as well as Minnesota’s own investigation. Prof. Sweasy said, “The car is a crime scene, there is just no other way to put it.” She added that the Honda Pilot would be critical to any state investigation and said that keeping it in storage could be a problem. She said, “Just the passage of time can degrade biological evidence. They’ve taken plastic and put it on the outside of the car. On the outside of that car there could be fingerprints or biological evidence, tire pressure goes down and that would affect a forensic examination of the way the car was at the time of the event.” Watch the interview.
