Prof. Linus Chan Interviewed by New York Times About Resignation of Top ICE Lawyer
Professor Linus Chan, James H. Binger Clinical Professor of Law, was interviewed by the New York Times about the resignation of Jim Stolley, the chief counsel for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota. The resignation is believed to be the result of the crush of litigation stemming from the immigration crackdown in the state that has overwhelmed the court system with hundreds of immigrants fighting deportation orders as well as the circumstances of their detention. Regarding Stolley’s departure, Prof. Chan said, “It is never a good sign when experienced lawyers who have weathered several different presidential administrations decide to leave.”
