Prof. Ana Pottratz Acosta Interviewed by KARE News About People’s Rights Regarding ICE Encounters
Professor Ana Pottratz Acosta, visiting assistant professor and director of the the Immigration & Human Rights Clinic of the James H. Binger Center for New Americans, was interviewed by KARE News about what people’s rights are regarding ICE. She said it depends on how and where people encounter ICE, “Like in a grocery store — going into the grocery store, that would be viewed as sort of a public space, similar to being outside. However, spaces that are private or where only employees are allowed in that space, similar to a residence, you can refuse entry and you would need a judicial warrant.”
