Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin Discusses the Work of the Irish Consortium on Gender-Based Violence

Professor Fionnuala Ní Aoláin, Regents Professor; Robina Chair in Law, Public Policy, and Society; and faculty director of Minnesota Law’s Human Rights Center, was interviewed on the Today FM podcast about the work of the Irish Consortium on Gender-Based Violence. Prof. Ní Aoláin explored the links between gender-based violence, conflict and peacebuilding, highlighting the critical need for women’s meaningful inclusion in peace processes and peace agreements. She also drew important parallels between Ireland’s own history of conflict and women’s roles in peacebuilding, and what this experience can offer future efforts globally.
