Prof. Paul Vaaler Interviewed by WCCO Radio About the ‘K-Shaped’ Economy

Professor Paul Vaaler, John and Bruce Mooty Chair in Law and Business, was interviewed by WCCO Radio about the ‘K-Shaped’ economy and its impact on Minnesotans. Prof. Vaaler said the impact is being felt with rising wealth for higher-income individuals and higher prices and weaker income gains adding to the struggle for lower-income individuals. He said, “Typically in a recession, as well as in a time of expansion, all boats sink a little in a recession and all boats are lifted up in a growing economy. There are certain circumstances, and these are one of them right now, where we have this split.”
