Minnesota Law Hosts Oral Argument Before the Minnesota Court of Appeals

In October, Minnesota Law hosted an argument before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Judges Elizabeth Bentley, Diane Bratvold, and Jon Schmidt presided over the case. 2L and 3L students taking moot court and competing on moot court competition teams were in attendance. 

Following the argument, the Law School hosted the judges, their clerks, and staff for a luncheon with students interested in judicial clerkships. Five recent graduates, Lea Chapoton ’25Kayla Gillespie ’25Eve Grabau ’25Kayla Haeg ’24, and Brian Hawthorne ’25, who are clerking at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, joined the luncheon and answered student questions. This is the third year that the Law School has hosted the Court of Appeals for an argument and luncheon with students. 

Dean William McGeveran provided the opening remarks during the event, which was organized by Professor Randall Ryder ’09 and Experiential Education Program Manager Diana Witt.
