Prof. Ana Pottratz Acosta Comments in Star Tribune About Federal Raid at St. Paul Warehouse

Professor Ana Pottratz Acosta, visiting assistant professor and director of the the Immigration & Human Rights Clinic of the James H. Binger Center for New Americans, commented in the Minnesota Star Tribune on the raid at a St. Paul paper distributor earlier this week. On Tuesday, federal agents arrested an unspecified number of workers at the Bro-Tex Inc. warehouse. The agents involved in the raid included members of the FBI, ICE, Homeland Security, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, but not local law enforcement. Relatives of those arrested have not received information as to why the workers were arrested nor where they were being held. Prof. Pottratz Acosta said she wasn’t sure if information will be released to the public about the specifics of the operation in St. Paul as the Trump administration has not been forthcoming with details of Homeland Security operations.
