Prof. Richard Painter Quoted in The New Yorker About Trump’s Involvement in Cryptocurrency

Professor Richard Painter, S. Walter Richey Professor of Corporate Law, was quoted in The New Yorker about Donald Trump’s involvement in cryptocurrency and his pardoning of cybercriminals, including granting clemency to the founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao. Prof. Painter said there is no parallel in American history. He said, “Corruption scandals have usually involved campaign money going to politicians, from both parties. This is the first time one has involved the President’s personal businesses and personal money.”
