Prof. Alan Rozenshtein Quoted by Reuters About Remaining Questions After Apparent TikTok Agreement

Professor Alan Rozenshtein was quoted by Reuters about Donald Trump’s plan to sell Chinese-owned TikTok's U.S. operations to U.S. and global investors will address the national security requirements in a 2024 law. While the new U.S. company will be valued at around $14 billion — a price tag on the popular short video app far below some analyst estimates — many details need to be fleshed out. Prof. Rozenshtein said unanswered questions include whether ByteDance would still control the algorithm. He said, “The problem is that the president has certified the deal, but he has not provided a lot of information on the algorithm.”
