Prof. Megan Walsh Authors Op-Ed in Star Tribune About Need for Assault Weapons Ban in Minnesota

Professor Megan Walsh wrote an op-ed in the Minnesota Star Tribune about Minnesota needing to enact an assault weapons ban in wake of the recent school/church shooting in Minneapolis and that any laws written to enact a ban would be constitutional. She wrote, “The Second Amendment does not protect weapons that are not commonly used for self-defense or other lawful purposes. As seen in Wednesday’s horrific shooting, mass shooters choose assault weapons because they kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. There can be no doubt that the Constitution does not provide any right to do that.”
