Visiting Professor Jorge Contreras was interviewed on ABC4.com regarding the recent copyright infringement suit brought by Warner Music against cookie vendor Crumbl. According to Warner, Crumbl and its social media influencers have used 159 copyrighted musical tracks by Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and other popular artists on TikTok and Instagram videos that promote Crumbl's cookies. Warner and its affiliates are seeking statutory damages of $150,000 per song, or nearly $24 million, in the case.
