Student News: Jacob Bourgault ’25 Receives the President's Student Leadership & Service Award
Jacob Bourgault ’25 has received the University of Minnesota President’s Student Leadership and Service Award. He was selected for his work as president of the Professional Student Government, which oversees approximately 7,000 students and has a total yearly budget of around $225,000. During his time in law school, Bourgault also served as a student attorney and student director for the law school's Bankruptcy Clinic. He worked over the summer as a summer associate at White & Case and as a judicial extern for the Honorable William J. Fisher of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota, both of which involved pro bono work.
Bourgault has grown as a leader as the president of the Professional Student Government and at Minnesota Law, where he has worked to build sustainable systems that empower the next group of leaders to ensure that good practices continue well into the future.
”I'm honored to receive the President’s Student Leadership & Service Award," Bourgault says. "I'm grateful to the Minnesota Law community, the professional student body, and the University of Minnesota for the opportunity to serve, learn, and grow alongside such dedicated peers.”
