Professor Nick Bednar ’16 was quoted by the Washington Post about an email federal workers received this weekend instructing them to respond with five things they accomplished last week. Elon Musk tweeted that employees who did not respond would be considered to have resigned from their positions. “The analogy to this is I send you an email, and I give you a day to respond, or you owe me a million dollars,” Professor Bednar said. “I can’t take that to court and say, well, they didn’t respond, so they clearly accepted they were going to give me a million dollars.”
