Prof. JaneAnne Murray Interviewed by Dallas Morning News About the Work of the Clemency Project Clinic

Professor JaneAnne Murray was interviewed by the Dallas Morning News in an investigation story about two imprisoned Texas mothers who were first-time, nonviolent offenders who had their federal prison sentences reduced thanks to the work of the Clemency Project Clinic. Regarding similar patterns of the many women who end up with long prison sentences, Prof. Murray said, “When you dig into the pasts of these women, there’s so much trauma and abuse. It is disturbing to see these draconian sentences meted out to people who are as much victims as they are perpetrators.”
