Prof. June Carbone Co-Authors Article on How Economic Security in U.S. Affects Stability of Families
Professor June Carbone co-authored an article for the Institute for Family Studies with Professor Naomi Cahn. Together with Professor Nancy Levit, they wrote the book Fair Shake: Women and the Fight to Build a Just Economy. In this article, they discuss that while there are differences in marriage rates among members of the two major political parties, the make up of families and their stability is substantially more a function of economic insecurity rather than of partisan identity. They stress the importance of not focusing on partisanship but rather on the increasing economic divergence in contemporary America and how to best support children.
