Prof. Richard Painter Quoted in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and on WBUR About Hunter Biden’s Pardon

Professor Richard Painter, S. Walter Richey Professor of Corporate Law, was quoted by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and on WBUR’s Here & Now about President Biden pardoning his son after earlier saying he would not. Hunter Biden had been convicted on charges of lying about his drug use when he bought a gun and pleaded guilty to charges that he did not pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. Prof. Painter said Mr. Biden should not have discussed his son’s case at all, “He never should have made a campaign promise not to pardon his own son.”
