This conference brings together scholars and other professionals in corporate and labor and employment law to explore ideas at the intersection of these two disciplines.  The topics to be considered include: the original myth of shareholder primacy; corporate purpose; the role of employees (and gig workers) in corporate governance; how employees fare in ESOP-owned firms; gender dynamics; and corporate responsibility for employee-related societal harms. There will also be interviews with experts on the role of employee pension plans in funding corporate buyouts, and on boardroom perspectives on unions and other employee issues.
