Join Minnesota Law for a free lunch hour CLE event featuring an interview with David Webber. Alvin Velazquez, Associate General Counsel, Service Employees International Union and Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown, will interview Webber.

This lunch hour event is in conjunction with the Minnesota Law's Labor and Governance Conference taking place throughout the day on Thursday, June 29 through Friday, June 30, 2023. Event attendees are welcome to engage in the additional panel discussions taking place in the building on either day.

Those who register to attend will be provided a free lunch.

+More Information on "Corporate Governance at Work" Conference

This conference brings together scholars and other professionals in corporate and labor and employment law to explore ideas at the intersection of these two disciplines. The topics to be considered include: the original myth of shareholder primacy; corporate purpose; the role of employees (and gig workers) in corporate governance; how employees fare in ESOP-owned firms; gender dynamics; and corporate responsibility for employee-related societal harms. There will also be interviews with experts on the role of employee pension plans in funding corporate buyouts, and on boardroom perspectives on unions and other employee issues.
