Reading Seminar: Case Studies in Behavioral Finance
Getting- and often, losing- lots of money, one's own and other people's, is not for the faint of heart. Who is it for? This reading course will discuss the economic, cultural, and psychological determinants of banker and “tech bro” behavior, and consider how regulators (and the bankers’ and tech bros.’ employers) could react to the significant negative externalities that behavior sometimes imposes. The readings consist of highly readable (almost, beach reading) but detailed, knowledgeable and sophisticated insider accounts of the behavior at issue, in the context of various scandals.
